Table Soccer or Foosball Table? Or Is It Fooseball Table?





Foosball is known by many names, which can cause some confusion. In America, we have the good old foosball table. Sometimes, it's spelled with an "E", as in "fooseball table". Of course spelling-wise, that's just wrong, but hey, its a free country. You can spell fooseball with an "e" if you want.







"A foosball table by any other name would smell as sweet..."






But Fooseball and Foosball is just the beginning of the debate. Lots of people call the game table soccer, which makes some sense, as foosball is basically a miniature form of that great game.






In Germany, you might see the word fussball, although "kicker" is more common. In fact, the American word foosball (or fooseball) is actually a corruption of the German word "fussball".





In other parts of Europe, you might hear the game called "footy." That's common in Australia too. You might also hear it called table soccer. That name is pretty universal, in fact.

Kung fu -- a sport from China in which people fight using their hands and feet


e.g. duh? if not fight with eyebrows and knee caps?


Bong -- a musical noise made especially by a large clock

why is it not " tong " , "dong " , " pong" , "kong" , " kiang " or " ling " , different clocks have different sounds isnt it?

For example, mine is , : " AH GRACE AR! XING LAI LIAO!! CHI DAO LIAO!!! XING LAI!!!!!!!!!!! " .... btw thats my mum..


e.g. " BONG BOOONG~" i punched my sis's boobs.

* toto -- as a total or whole

e.g. The combination of numbers in Toto is alot in toto.


* twit -- a stupid person

e.g. Junhao's a twit.


* shit stirrer -- someone who makes trouble for other people, especially by making known

facts that they would prefer to keep secret


e.g. Nana is a shit stirrer who loves to bao toh to my parents about me. Knn.

* swot -- someone, usually a child, who studies very hard


e.g. I am a swot. Jiaxin is trying too hard to be like me.


* femme fatale -- a woman who is very attractive in a mysterious way, usually leading people

into danger or causing their destruction


e.g. What can i say? I am a born femme fatale.
